Serpbook is an industry leader in providing rank tracking services. We know that keeping track of your keyword rankings is important to you, so we strived to create a rank tracker that is the most efficient and simple way to keep track of all your website rankings.

Signing up for an account
Start off by heading here and taking a look at which package suits you most. You can choose between a wide variety of options that will easily suit your needs.
SerpBook is based on keyword/domain combinations (ie. 50 for Basic, 100 for Essential).
If you subscribe to a 50 keyword package, you would be able to track 50 URL/keyword combinations. This means 50 domains with 1 keyword, or 50 keywords on 1 domain.
There is a discount when you subscribe on an semi-annual (6 months) or annual (12 months) billing cycle.

Logging in
Head over to serpbook.com and click the blue "Sign In" button.

Alternatively you can simply visit serpbook.com/login for the direct login page.

Changing your password
You can set your local timezone through your settings. You will see the option to change your password at the top of the page. (Please note: changing your password will reset all of your ViewKey "auth" codes).

Upgrading your account
You can access all of our packages through the "Upgrade Your Subscription" link at the top-center of SerpBook. Clicking that will take you to the page with the subscriptions and pricing information. The remaining days of your previous subscription will be automatically refunded once you upgrade/downgrade.

Cancelling your account
If you are unsatisfied for any reason at all or wish to cancel your account, simply fill out the form here. Your account will automatically be cancelled if upon completion of the cancellation form.

Categories (Creating/Viewing/Editing)
Categories are automatically created once you've added your first keyword. Clicking on "Your Categories" at the top of the page will allow you to see a list of all the categories you have.

You can also generate and export reports and ViewKey links by hovering over your category.

Category Metrics
Category Metrics are enabled by default and allow you to view keyword movements quickly at a glance. You can turn category metrics off, or choose to show different comparisons by modifying this setting in your settings.
Keyword Visibility

This chart displays your category's keyword visibility in Google. It is scored out of 100, and it is calculated by assigning points to each keyword based on their keyword ranking.
Each keyword starts off at a score of 100, then 1 point is subtracted for every rank they are behind.
Rank #1 = 100 points
Rank #2 = 99 points
Rank #3 = 98 points
...
Rank #10 = 91 points
...
Rank #100 = 1 point
Rank #101 = 0 points
Rank #102+ = 0 points
Afterwards, the score is divided by the number of keywords in the category.

Category Average

This chart displays the average ranking of the keywords in your category. Only ranking keywords are included in this data.
Both of these graphs can be hidden by toggling the option within your settings (Under "Category Metrics").

Adding in Keywords
You can add a keyword into an existing category, or a new category.

To add in your first keyword, click on "Create Category" and input your desired category name, you will then be presented with a form to add in your keywords.

Input your domain name and your keywords (one keyword per line) into the form, and select the Google region you wish to track.

Multiple domains/keywords can be added in using the "Bulk Importer" feature. Once this option is ticked, you can add in your domains/keywords in the format "domain1.com:keyword1" (one per line).

You must select the corresponding language with the appropriate region if you decide to track a different Google region.

Exact Feature
Ticking off the "Exact" checkbox will force SerpBook to only report back your inputted URL. (SerpBook will report back the first ranking URL by default).

Ignore Local Listings
Ticking off the "Ignore Local Listings" checkbox will force SerpBook will ignore Google Places/Local listings.

Change Location
Ticking off the "Change Location" checkbox will force SerpBook to check your keyword from your desired ZIP code/location. This should be used if you plan on ranking keywords that rely on local traffic (ie. "Toronto Dentist"). For example, if you depend on traffic or want to search from a specific location like a certain Zip Code, this option would be best for you.

Deleting a Single Keyword
To delete a single keyword, choose the category it correlates to and find the keyword you want to delete. You should see a garbage can icon to the far right of the keyword. Click that to delete that single keyword.

Alerts
You will be instantly notified when a keyword enters/leaves the top 1/10/100 position.
You can modify your alert settings by going into Profile > Settings > Email Alert Settings.
You can choose to be notified via email whenever you have 5 or more notifications.

Editing your Sites
To edit a single keyword, find the category with the keyword you'd like to edit and click on the gear/cog icon () to the left of the keyword.

A menu will show you a list of options to modify, including the ability to change the region, language, adding a search location, or ignoring local listings.

You can bulk edit keywords by going to "Your Categories" > choose the category you'd like to edit > Modify Category. Here you will have the ability to mass move, edit, or delete keywords.


Viewing your SerpBook Data
There are various ways you can view your current keyword positions, a quick overview of your current keyword positions can be found opening up a category.

You can then sort your data by clicking on the table headers at the top of the table, to sort your data from ascending to descending order or descending to ascending order.

There is a search box you can use to search and filter your keywords/domains, and columns can be shown/hidden through your settings.

A search bar is avaiable to search for a specific domain or keyword.

Historical charts of your keyword positions can be found by clicking on the chart icon () to the left of the row.


Category Data
At the bottom of the category page, you will find several options to view and export your data. You can update your keyword rankings instantly, export keywords, edit your category notes, and view multiple charts.

Spyglass Tool - Verify Rankings
You can use the Spyglass feature () to verify any rankings reported by SerpBook. Clicking on the Spyglass icon will allow you to perform a live query, so these results may be appear slightly different if you connect to a different Google Datacenter.

Favoriting Keywords & Modifying Start Value
Keywords can be favorited or unfavorited by clicking on a keyword.




Start values can be modified by clicking on the start value.





ViewKeys
A ViewKey allows you to share a category with anyone (clients/friends/family/ect) and allow them to view the category's rankings in real time - but they can't modify or delete anything.
There are three (2) types of ViewKeys: normal ViewKeys, white label ViewKeys.

Normal ViewKeys
Normal ViewKeys allow you to share a category exactly the way you see the category. The only difference is that the user cannot delete or add any keywords.


White label ViewKeys
White label ViewKeys are designed for SEO agencies, companies, and other users who would like to whitelabel SerpBook's data. This feature allows you to iFrame a ViewKey seamlessly integrate it on your own domain.



Exporting your chart as a PDF / CSV
Categories can be exported as a PDF or CSV format through your dashboard, or through the menu.



Extended Reports
Historical category information and on-demand email reports can also be exported through here.

Scheduled Email Reports
Email reports can be scheduled through your settings.

Enter in an email where you wish to send the report to (separate any multiple email addresses with a comma), then select the frequency and the type of report you wish to send out (PDF / Excel).

The frequency of the report be be specified as every X days and/or every X day of the month (separated by a comma).

Your email subject and body text can also be customized, allowing you use %category% to represent the category name in your email.


Adding Notes
Notes can be added in at the bottom of each category by clicking on the "Notes" button. Notes are tied to a date, that will automatically be plotted onto your charts.


Adding Tags
Tags can be used to group any number of keywords in a category, and each keyword can have multiple tags (possible usage: group keywords with a region or some kind of priority).

Keywords tags can be added by selecting the checkboxes to the right of the desired keyword, then using the "Manage Selected Keywords" dropdown to select "Assign New Tags".
Once Tagged, you can easily flip through and filter the keywords by your existing tags.
Tags can be removed once you are viewing the category by the filtered tag. Simply check off the keywords you wish to remove the tags from, then using the "Manage Selected Keywords" dropdown to select "Remove from Tag".

Integrating your Google Analytics Account
Your Google Analytics account can be directly integrated into SerpBook through here.
To get started, click on the "Connect Me" button to link your Google account to SerpBook.

The next step is to grant permission for SerpBook to view your Google Analytics account.

Select your Google Analytics Profile then click on "Submit".

If you are satisfied with the result of the graph, you can then save this profile onto your SerpBook account by clicking on "Save this Ga Profile".

Once you have saved your Google Analytics profile onto your account, you can either iFrame the ViewKey directly onto your site, or associate it to a category.

You have the option to associate it with any amount of categories and your SerpBook dashboard as well.

Addon Users
Addon Users may access your SerpBook account with their own email/password, and can have full or partial access to your account. You can add/edit Addon users through your settings.

You may add restrictions to restrict the addon user to only being able to vew/manage specified categories. You can also leave the restrictions field blank for no restrictions.

Multiple permission settings are available for addon users.
  • View Only - Viewing permissions only, cannot edit or delete anything
  • Addon User - Standard Addon user, can view and edit categories
  • Admin Access - Can modify your settings, create/delete Addon users
